GENERAL SUMMARY: Supports a comprehensive residence life program including the management of operational needs and programmatic initiatives and assists the Dean and Associate Dean in situations related to student life within the guidelines of federal, state, and local laws, and College and departmental policies and procedures. Reports to the Associate Dean of Students or other designated person and works with co-workers, faculty, staff, students, alumnae, parents, the national educational community, and the local community leaders and members of professional organizations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Implement a comprehensive residence life program including the management of operational needs and programmatic initiatives and assists the Dean and Associate Dean in situations related to student life.
2. Work with students, staff and faculty to offer a variety of programs in the residence halls, which support the education experience of students outside of the classroom.
3. Select, train, and supervise residence hall staff.
4. Manage operations including but not limited to residence hall policies, schedules, keys, room condition reports, and maintenance schedules.
5. Serve as primary contact for facilities department. Work closely with staff to monitor general maintenance of buildings and report needs directly to facilities and public safety.
6. Advises residence hall staffs including Residence Life Coordinators, Resident Directors, and Resident Assistants.
7. Coordinates room assignments for new and returning students. Facilitate roommate conflict mediation.
8. Serve on crisis response team and serve on call for DOS emergency service.
9. Maintain all floor plans and other residence hall information. Serve as primary contact for office of accounting and update daily housing and board changes. Coordinate data with ITS and accounting.
10. Live on campus or within five miles of the campus.
11. Directly oversee operations and staff development at Avery Glen apartments.
12. Supervise residential life and assists the Dean and Associate Dean in situations related to student life.
13. Handle all aspects related to housing of residential students throughout the academic year and summer.

REQUIREMENTS
Education: Master’s degree is required with a focus in Counseling or Student Personnel preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years work experience. 3 to 5 years experience following graduate school in residence life an/or student affairs preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
* Considerable knowledge of Agnes Scott College history, policies, and procedures, and current residence life trends.
* Demonstrated leadership skills
* Strong detail management and conflict resolution skills.
* Familiarity with current educational trends, politics of thought, and protocols.
* Proficiency in modern office equipment and computer software: Microsoft, Word, Excel, Power Point, and computerized calendars. .
* Good listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality.
Other:
* Irregular and on-call hours are required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and occasional lifting of light objects. Work is performed in an office.
